On the stage

The stage was colourful with the glamourous costumes. No too much movement by the actors, a lot talking with the accompanying traditional percussion musics.

The audiences

The audiences are the residences around this area. It reminds me of the Chinese opera in my own village where the opera plays at the temple once every year during the festive season.

Backstage

Back to the stage, some busy at redo their make up and change costumes. As they shows repeats everyday, the casts know exactly the timing to go back on stage. Before their turn to go back to the stage, they are relax at back stage.

The backstage etiquettes & rituals

There is a small atlar for everyone to pray. In Asian countries, religiona and belief plays a vital part of their life. The atlar is something which the stage performers cannot do without. They seek for protections from god and avoid disruptions from spirits. Among themselves, they show respects to each other from time to time.
